Colorectal cancer starts in the tissues of the colon or the rectum. The majority of colorectal cancers are adenocarcinomas. They are associated with mutation of APC, KRAS, SMAD4, and TP53. Others are caused by BFAR mutation, where there is a wrong repair in the DNA.
